I'm 27 years old and I am morbidly obese. From a young age I started emotionally eating and I still haven't kicked the habit. I can say that only once I have noted and documented weight loss in my life, that was last year while eating a vegan diet I lost 30 pounds in a four month period coupled with light walking. My goal of this blog is to keep myself motivated as well as motivate others to get into shape because there's more to life than food, and if you want to truly enjoy what the world has to offer then why not do it in a body that is not limited by weight/size/girth.
I wish I could say that this is my only challenge on the board right now. I wish I could say that it was the most important challenge for me right now. Sadly this is not the case. In the month and a half I've been out here I have yet to find a job. I'm staying with my friend Chris right now, and he's nice enough to support me while I get on my feet. That being said, I don't have money to get what I need to properly do this challenge. Until I find employment I decided to focus my efforts towards increasing my general physical activities. You'll see my short term goals mostly involving walking distances and times. This also gives me time to do the research needed to formulate the exact course of action I can take to attain my goals.
In the meantime, I plan to keep up with my posts frequently. I'll set the standard right now at three a week. Even if it's just a picture or video that motivates me or something that relates to the focus of my blog. My idea is once a week there will be a video post outlining my week as well as how I did on my weekly challenge. Weekly challenges will be ways to incorporate healthy habits into my everyday life. A few of the challenges I've thought up so far have been:
- Take a Yoga Class
- Jog for 30 minutes three times in a week
- Do 50 push ups and crunches first thing in the morning every day for a week
- Take a spinning class
- Eat breakfast every day
- Keep a diet journal
