Something surprised me though. Just for kicks I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down six pounds! I will chalk roughly half of that to the body flushing everything out. The weight loss will break down to roughly 70% fat, 20% muscle and 10% water. I kept up with my water intake throughout the day which, I think, helped keep the headache away.
I also learned something very important. PEEL EVERYTHING. Last night while juicing for this morning's breakfast I tore the nail on an orange while peeling it. The pain and agony of my hand caused me to not peel the grapefruit... The result was a slightly bitter aftertaste to the juice when I tried it. Nonetheless, it still tasted good so I put them away and went to bed. When I got to work and tried the juice again there was no taste of berry, apple, or citrus. It was just a bitter purple drink. Since I was at work and had no alternatives, I just manned up and took it to the face. Moral of the story: peel peel peel EVERYTHING!
