The biggest thing in that went in our favor was that the sky was very overcast. I'd be happy to struggle and sweat in the cool breeze than in the hot morning sun. I didn't count how many breaks I ended up taking on the way up because I was chatting most the time with Chris. Having a partner to walk with makes the trek a little bit easier. I remember taking breaks after the first and second flights plus two during the third flight. That third set of stairs is a real jerk. The steps are two and three steps high and are uneven. After the third set I sat down for a blow. I told Chris that there is one more set of big steps then a landing that goes into regular sized steps.
After mentally preparing myself for the final two flights. It's funny because the woman I previously mentioned that smiled and gave me the thumbs up passed by me again. And she flashed me another one of her genuine, you-can-do-it smiles! I explained to Chris who she was. I gave Chris permission to continue to the next landing without me so that he wouldn't have to stand around unnecessarily while I gasp for air and take breaks. I once again took to steppin while looking down.
Something I realized is that taking the stairs on the way down is very bad for me. Especially the third flight. With steps being so high, coupled with my level of exhaustion, I come down very hard. That's a lot of weight to have coming down on my knees one at a time. I suppose that if I do it here and there then it won't be so bad for me. Each time I ascend and descend I'm at a lighter weight, so the impact is less each time I go. I'd like to get to the point of doing this weekly and maybe even twice a week. For now I'm gonna start slow and shoot for once every two weeks. It's a good way to work out without having to go all the way out to the gym.
Lastly I'd like to address my most recent weigh-in. As tired and cranky as I was yesterday morning (the day started rough but got better) I was able to accept what the scale told me my weight was. My number for this week is 354 pounds. I was surprised that I managed to lose three pounds during a weekend of heavy drinking and freebie meals. There is a secret that I've been holding back from you all that I should be able to reveal in the following two months. Hopefully. When I am able to reveal my secret I believe this will trump any objections people have towards the inability to lose weight. In the meantime, I've been debating about another section on here. A progress picture section. Now that I am down some in the pounds department, I think it'll be good to have an area documenting my progress. I have been taking pictures here and there of myself in the locker room. By having a section dedicated to nothing but weight loss pictures I will be more apt to keep on top of taking them. So... Later on today I'll have a section up with pictures of myself (semi-NSFW/man boobs) along with dates and weights! That is all for now! Until the next episode!
